Tennis Anyone!
20/06/07 15:27
I play tennis 3 mornings/week with a group of
seniors. We play three sets and rotate partners after
each set so it is not too competitive. Great
exercise..are you listening John & Malcie. It
costs $125.00 for a membership and that includes free
lessons. I also play in a Team Tennis League on
Tuesday evenings where I play with 4 other people in
a Mixed tennis competition. It is more recreational.
I play from 9:00-10:30 am and then go up into Victoria Park which is just around the corner from the Tennis Club for my 3km walk. It kills the am.
Here is a video clip of our play this am. My camera's battery died after the first game so you get a flavour.

Teachers Slo-Pitch-June 9,2007
09/06/07 20:46
I played in the 8th Annual Teachers Slo-Pitch Tourney
today.it was hot--26 C. I still have it, albeit a bit
slower on the base paths.
There were four teams competing: CEC, Bible Hill Jr., Hants North and my old school -Truro Junior. CEC won with a 3-0 record. We were 0-3. Winston showed up to watch our 2nd game & then we went to Kramers for lunch and I bought the pitcher of Keith's draft and he did me a favour and drink half of it.
Here is a short highlight reel from the games.

Darlene and I were at the Pond Beverage Room to
listen to two bands on Wed. night. The first was Hal
Bruce and Scott Ferguson (drummer)--played with the
Rankin Sisters on tour.
Here is a short video of Hal Bruce singing Beatles & other 60's classics.
The second band of the night and the featured one were the Repeatles from Sweden (Beatles Cover band). They are on their way to Halifax for the 2nd Annual Maritime Beatlemania Event being held on Saturday, June 9 at the Olympic Gardens from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight.
